About Ga'Nae
Ga’Nae Collins is interning with Alder Grove while she pursues her Master of Arts in Counseling at Bradley University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Western Illinois University and has worked at a psychiatric hospital for the last three years. Ga’Nae’s counseling is rooted in a person-centered approach, and her clinical focus is on supporting children and adolescents. Outside of work, she is a part of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc., which is one of the Divine 9 Sororities. She also enjoys reading, shopping, and watching TV. Ga’Nae believes that “mental health and wellness is important and we need to break the negative stigma around it.” Her favorite quote comes from Dr. Seuss: You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.
