About Kim
Kim Kriks, LCSW, Alder Grove’s clinical director, has been a powerful force of community support and outreach. Kim received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minor in Applied Behavioral Science from the University of Kansas. She received her master’s degree in Social Work and PEL endorsement at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her primary clinical focus is early childhood, providing parenting support and counseling to children under ten years of age. She also has training in women’s issues and perinatal mental health. Prior to working in private practice, Kim was a school social worker for ten years. She has experience working with children of all ages (birth through high school) and has worked in an early childhood program (3 to 5 year olds) providing direct services and preschool screenings/social-emotional evaluations and in an early intervention program (birth to three year olds). Kim’s therapy is most guided by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systems Theory. She believes that Alder Grove’s mission directly aligns with her beliefs; she believes that you are the expert when it comes to you and your family, and she is here to help guide and offer strategies during tough times. When Kim is not working, she loves canoe camping in the Boundary Waters and bike riding with her husband and son to the local farmer’s market.
