I've overcome a lot. I've done a lot. I matter to people. I'll do a lot more. I'll matter to more people. I'm not where I want to be. I don't look how I want to look. I don't feel how I want to feel. I don't know what I want to be doing. I'm not where I think I'm meant to be.
But that doesn't mean I can't love where I am. Knowing that you want to change something doesn't mean that you have to hate where you are right now. I would love to lose some weight and get in amazing shape. But that doesn't mean that just because I want my body to look different eventually, I have to hate the way that it looks now.
I want to be braver and a little more outgoing, but that doesn't mean I have to feel bad about the fact that I'm a shy person. You can love the things you want to change about yourself. I think that might be the first step in changing them. Becoming more comfortable with your flaws, or what you perceive to be your flaws, can help you overcome those flaws. It's okay to love your life and still want it to change. People always talk about how short life is. How you blink and you're 70. So it's silly to waste time wishing you were somewhere else, or someone else. Learn to love who you are, even if you want to change.
