Kathy Katris has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University. Kathy has extensive experience in working with young children, and she is now taking her skills and knowledge about child development and applying that to her work as a therapist. Kathy has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Elmhurst University and an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. She has worked in various educational and childcare settings, and her work is strongly aligned with Erikson's Stages of Psychosocial Development. Kathy uses these stages to guide her understanding of each person’s unique developmental process and to help them advance socially and achieve appropriate milestones. Kathy believes that “out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength” (Freud), and she helps her clients to make meaning of their struggles. When not working, Kathy enjoys yoga, baking, traveling, and hanging out with her friends and family.
