Understanding Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA): Support Parents and Providers

ginakhines

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), is a complex condition that is often misunderstood. At Alder Grove Counseling, we know how deeply parents and providers want to understand kids and provide the best care and support possible. However, when faced with PDA, it can feel like nothing works, and this often results in feeling isolated, frustrated, and exhausted. But the good news is that support and solutions are available.

Gina Hines, LCPC at Alder Grove Counseling, offers consultations for parents of PDA children. Interested parents can email Gina directly at gina@aldergrovecounseling.com

Gina will also be leading a seminar for mental health providers on how to understand and support PDA from a trauma-informed lens. The seminar is occurring on April 11, 2025 at Family Counseling Service in Aurora, IL. Interested providers may register online for the PDA seminar.

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) seminar for counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists.
