Autumn Bretwisch serves as the Intake Coordinator at Alder Grove Counseling, where she is passionate about helping individuals access the mental health resources they need. With a background in Psychological Sciences from Purdue University and a minor in Spanish Language for the Professions, Autumn brings both academic insight and a personal commitment to ensuring everyone receives the care they deserve.
During her time at Purdue, Autumn worked in a research laboratory within the Social Psychology Department, where she assisted in data collection for a doctoral dissertation study. Autumn’s career path has also included working as a hostess in the restaurant industry, which further honed her people skills and taught her the value of communication, empathy, and creating positive first impressions. She genuinely enjoys connecting with others, learning about their personal histories, and helping them navigate their challenges.
Outside of her professional life, Autumn has a deep love for animals, having co-parented two rabbits during her time in college while growing up with three dogs in her family. This openness to new experiences and interests extends to her personal philosophy—she believes in constantly broadening her horizons and learning from those around her.
Autumn is deeply committed to the principle that every individual’s struggles and trauma are valid, regardless of how they may be perceived by others. She has witnessed firsthand the barriers to mental health access and is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals receive the support and care they deserve. Autumn believes no one should ever feel their trauma is less important, and she works tirelessly to help others find acceptance and healing.
