Elizabeth McNally, LSW, has a Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Benedictine University and a Master’s of Social Work with specialization in Mental Health from UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work.  She has clinical experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with a wide array of symptoms of mental illness.  She has specialized training and experience in working with children and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions.  She has provided individual and group support for adults in a residential program who were experiencing significant symptoms of mental illness, counseling and advocacy for children and families who were experiencing domestic violence, and group counseling for children in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program who were experiencing depression, anxiety, and OCD.  Elizabeth’s clinical work is client-centered and trauma-informed.  She is most aligned with CBT, DBT, and mindfulness approaches, and she loves integrating games, art, creativity, and each client’s specific interests into her therapy.  Overall, her work is guided by the principle that “the therapeutic space should be one that is safe and inclusive for all,” and she is intentional that everyone who walks through the door feels seen, heard, and understood.  When not working, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, exploring new places, cooking, going for walks, listening to podcasts, watching basketball and baseball, painting, and spending time with the people she loves.
