Gina Hines, LCPC, started Alder Grove Counseling in 2014 because she saw a need for families and parents to find support for their children in a changing world. She also wanted to create a community of therapists that could learn and grow from each other. The practice has now grown to support people of all ages, and she has created a work culture that values work/life balance and self-care for therapists. Gina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Health and a Master’s degree in Counseling, both from Bradley University.Â
In addition to running Alder Grove, Gina continues to practice as a counselor. She is passionate as a therapist about honoring neurodiversity and supporting ADHD, autism, and people who are HSPs (highly sensitive persons), supporting people through life transitions like college and career decisions, and helping people address trauma. She recently completed training for EMDR. Gina’s clinical work is grounded in the Humanistic/Person-Centered approach and incorporates some DBT and CBT. When not working, Gina loves stargazing, reading and writing fiction, and traveling and learning about different cultures.Â
