Dr. Jodi Harap is a clinical psychologist.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from

Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and a Master’s degree and Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.  She works with all ages supporting a variety of issues, but primarily helps clients with anxiety/stress, mood disturbance, and behavior modification.  She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  Jodi has over 25 years of experience working as a psychologist and behavioral scientist in multiple hospitals/medical centers and as an outpatient therapist in private practice. She has also worked in academia as a faculty member teaching classes and training medical residents.  Jodi integrates approaches and strategies from multiple theoretical models, but is primarily driven by a cognitive-behavioral and social learning framework.  In addition to her therapy work, Jodi is very passionate about advocating for systemic changes in local government to create a more inclusive community, particularly regarding the LGBTQIA+ community. She is currently on the board of Equality Downers Grove (EQDG), and she chairs EQDG's Civic Affairs and Public Policy Committee.  Jodi believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to feel heard, to receive support and validation, and to learn skills to help modify and manage life issues they may be struggling with. She truly enjoys working in partnership with her clients to achieve these goals.
