Swapna Gigani

Clinical Intern

Mom/Wife/Daughter/Sister

Swapna Gigani recently returned to school after a hiatus and is pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at Aurora University. With previous degrees in Economics from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Keller School of Management, she brings a strong academic background and real-world experience to her graduate studies. While her earlier education focused on business and analytical skills, Swapna’s true passion has always been supporting people and making a difference in her community.

She is especially dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and breaking the stigma of seeking help, particularly within South Asian communities. Swapna hopes to encourage more open and supportive conversations, helping individuals feel comfortable accessing care.

Outside of school, Swapna is the proud mom of two high schoolers. When she's not supporting their activities, she channels her creativity into her at-home cake business, where she enjoys designing and baking custom creations. She also enjoys working out as her primary form of self-care. In addition, she gives back to her community through her service as a Trustee on the Downers Grove Public Library Board, where she advocates for welcoming and inclusive library services.
